TRENTON, N.J. (AP) ? New Jersey’s heat wave continues unabated and forecasters expect it will get hotter on the weekend.

Temperatures are expected around 100 degrees in parts of the state on Saturday. Combined with the humidity, it could feel like 110 degrees in south Jersey.

The National Weather Service says Saturday’s high in Trenton will be near the record of 103 degrees set two years ago.

Atlantic City Electric, a unit of Pepco Holdings Inc., is urging customers to conserve power because the heat, recent storm damage and high demand are stressing the electric system’s capabilities.

Excessive heat warnings, watches and heat advisories are in effect statewide.

Forecasters say they may have to extend the warning into Sunday afternoon if thunderstorms don’t break the heat.
